Best Plant Shops In Los Angeles

last updated: April 2021

It’s no secret that I absolutely LOVE plants! Everything about them makes me so happy, and one of my greatest joys every week is tending to them, watering them, and occasionally shopping for new ones to bring into my home. Whether you’re a seasoned plant parent or a newbie to the scene, I hope this guide is informative in helping you find the plant pal of your dreams!

Folia Collective

5117 Eagle Rock Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90041

I absolutely love the selection at Folia Collective! They are a tiny shop, but it’s one you should definitely make plans to visit.

Mickey Hargitay Plants

1255 N Sycamore Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90038

Mickey Hargitay Plants is a true oasis in a busy part of the city, and all of their plants are reasonably priced and there are always several varieties here which I have not seen elsewhere. The parking in this area can be a bit difficult, so keep that in mind if you’re purchasing a lot of plants.

The Sill

8125 W 3rd St. Los Angeles, CA 90048

I love the collection at The Sill! Their shop is on the small side, but the staff is friendly and helpful. They also offer workshops like ‘Plants 101’ if you’re a new plant parent.

Sunset Blvd Nursery

4368 Sunset Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90029

Sunset Blvd Nursery was one of the first plant shops I visited when I began getting into plants, and is still a must-visit whenever I’m in that part of town. They always have a great selection of healthy plants and beautiful pots.

WildFlora

12313 Ventura Blvd. Studio City, CA 91604

WildFlora offers plenty of pots and accessories in their shop, in addition to plants, cacti, succulents, and more. I especially love their selection of dried flowers which I use as decoration at home. The staff is great and always friendly!

Greenwood Shop

12063 Ventura Pl. Studio City, CA 91604

Greenwood Shop is filled with the most lovely curation of giftable goods, crystals, linens, and of course plenty of plants. They relocated in 2021 from Valley Village to a new spot in Studio City!

Plantiitas

4003 E 4th St. Long Beach, CA 90814

I was floored by their well-priced selection at Plantiitas! Go support this awesome queer POC owned business and hit up Prism Boutique next door while you’re there!

Terrain

Westfield Century City 10250 Santa Monica Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90067

Located inside Westfield Century City next to Anthropologie, I absolutely love Terrain. They always have fun propagation vessels, plants books, and whimsical items for you to peruse.

Rolling Greens

Multiple Locations

Rolling Greens has locations in Mid-City, Culver City, and DTLA and is a staple of the city. Especially if you’re working to fill a larger space, they are the spot for you.

stuff-hollywood-plant-store.jpg

STU/FF

5659 Hollywood Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90028

STU/FF is a tiny shop is tucked into Hollywood Blvd. with a beautiful curation of plants both big and small, a selection of pots and planters (including unique wood and ceramic pieces), and planty accessories.

green-thumb-nursery-canoga-park.JPG

Green Thumb

21812 Sherman Way Canoga Park, CA 91303

Green Thumb has a few greater Los Angeles locations, but I believe this is the closest. Their selection is insane and everything is very reasonably priced.

armstrong-garden-center-los-angeles.jpg

Armstrong Garden Center

Multiple Locations

Armstrong Garden Center has a solid selection of indoor plants, but they do tend to have more cacti/succulents and landscaping items.

As much as I LOVE all of these stores, don’t forget that plants are available just about anywhere. I’ve gotten inexpensive plants that I love from Trader Joe’s, Ralph’s, Home Depot, and Lowe’s. I prefer supporting these local businesses over larger corporations, and the employees at these smaller shops are also very knowledgable about all things plants to help you out especially if you’re just getting started.
